What we at Destiny Charms find to be less plentiful is advice on how to carry out your chosen spell. This is most likely because it is the most complex part of the witchcraft spell and to be fair to those providing free spells on their site, possibly not their main focus.

So can they work for you? We take a look at some of the key factors involved in casting other’s witchcraft spells:

1) Make sure that you understand the spell fully. If it’s all gobbledygook to you it’s not going to work. This is because the power of any spell comes from within, it is you to provides the magic. The spell is enabling you to unleash that power so best to have an idea of what you are aiming for!

2) Don’t be afraid to make adjustments if you need to. A spell may be just what you are looking for but of a few points so work on rewriting or substituting elements. This may take a little experience before you know what is essential and what isn’t but we believe experimentation is the key to becoming a good witch anyway so give it a go.

3) You can also make witchcraft spells more personal by incorporating your own unique skills or abilities into it. An example of this would be that some people are particularly good at moon spells. They seem to come alive depending on the moon’s cycle and will do their best work then. So if you have a particular gift or aptitude when it comes to an element, altar tool, season, ingredient or WHATEVER then use it!

4) Because the spell has been written by someone else you may need to give it is few tries before you can make it work for you. It is about finding your own voice and making sure that this is what you hear when casting. If you feel any external energies around you then it can disrupt the flow and change the results.

How To Use a Pendulum

Using the pendulum for divination purposes is one of the easiest and most accessible methods that there is. And the good new is that this does not mean it is not equally as effective! So how do you go about using one?

How To Hold the Pendulum

Many believe that the pendulum should always be held in the right hand and others in the hand that you write with. So try it out to see if you have a stronger reaction in one or the other and then stick with this - in other words, be guided by the energies. You will need to hold the chain or string of the pendulum near to, but not right at the top, held between your thumb and first finger.

Asking the Pendulum How Today’s Answers Will Show

Before you start to ask the pendulum any questions you will need to know how it is going to answer you. This should be done before every session due to the fact that different physical, emotional and external states can serve to change the direction of the pendulum swing at any time. So check it out before you start. Simply ask the pendulum what today’s answer to YES is, and then NO. The pendulum will go clockwise, anti-clockwise, swing back and forth etc. As long as you know how to interpret your answers, you’re ready to start.

How to Ask the Pendulum Questions

Always structure your questions in a way that brings yes or no answers. So, as an example, ask “Is there anyone out there that loves me?” rather than “Who loves me?” as the first will give you a clear yes or no whereas the second will bring forth confused energies. If you gain a yes answer, then you can move on to asking further, and more specific, questions such as “Is this person Mark?” or “Is this person around me now?” etc.

If you have any visual clues or objects that represent aspects of your question, these can also be used. So, if you have photos of 2 people and wish to find out if one of them loves you over the other, place the photos in front of you and ask the pendulum to guide you towards which person is attracted to you. The pendulum will swing towards one of the photos.

If you get any confused results simply try to rephrase your question and you will usually find that you get back on track.

But for these reasons, choose wisely and only go for someone who you believe will give you the boost you need and be genuinely happy to see you succeed. Kindness is a wonderful energy so seek it out and let it in.

Book of Shadows - If you have a Book of Shadows, keep a journal of your progress along with all of the spells or aids that you use to help along the way. You can use these in the future for other projects - don’t waste knowledge!

Angels - Keep a picture or figure of an angel near to you. The reason you came up with the New Year’s resolution in the first place was likely because you have tried and failed before. It can be hard to break with habits or others’ expectations of you and sometimes it feels like the world is working against you. Your angel will be on your side, the protector of your hopes and dreams.
